Back by Popular Demand! Another Theatre Weekend at the Highlands Inn!
The weekend of March 19, I will be returning to the Highlands Inn, a lesbian-only B and B in Bethlehem, New Hampshire ... and this time, we will have a weekend of theatre!
Friday, March 18, evening... We will warm up with some very user-friendly, lesbian-specific acting exercises, for all levels of experience, including novices! Or you can just choose to be audience! These exercises are taken from a longer workshop titled "Beyond the L-Word."
Saturday, March 19 morning or afternoon (TBA) We will have a playwriting workshop for beginners where participants will create a two-minute monologue to be performed later in the evening. This exercise is taken from my workshop "The Art of the Dramatic Monologue."
Saturday, March 19, evening... I will perform The Parmachene Belle: “Fly Rod” Crosby, a lesbian Maine hunting guide from the late 19th century, shares secrets about fly-fishing as she indulges in her romantic fantasies about her friend Annie Oakley. The monologue workshop participants will share their work. A good time will be had by all!
"Carolyn Gage is a truly gifted playwright and actor. Her performance of Lace Curtain Irish, at The Highlands Inn in Bethlehem, NH on October 31, 2015, was hypnotic and riveting and it left the entire audience wanting more. Carolyn's plays and writings are at once intelligent, sensitive and entertaining. She is a beacon in the lesbian community and her work is not to be missed." -- Gia, Innkeeper
There will be a fee for the playwriting workshop, but attendance for the shows is free! Make your reservation today!
